Privacy policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

This policy describes how Puzzle Peace handles information when you visit this website or play the game. The developer responsible for Puzzle Peace is The Game Shelf.

Your puzzles and progress

The game stores puzzle progress, piece arrangements, completion times, unlocked achievements, and settings on your device so you can resume playing. Puzzle Peace has no accounts or servers of its own for saved games.

In the Steam version, Steam Cloud also keeps a copy of your puzzle progress and syncs it between the computers you play on. That copy is tied to your Steam account and handled by Steam. You can turn Steam Cloud off for the game in Steam.

The App Store version on iPad keeps your progress on the device only. It isn’t synced between devices, though it may be included in your device’s own iCloud or computer backups.

Steam features

In the Steam version, the game uses Steam services to check DLC ownership, download puzzle packs, record achievements, back up progress with Steam Cloud, and submit Daily Puzzle leaderboard scores. Scores and completion statistics are associated with your Steam account. Leaderboards display Steam profile names, ranks, and scores to other players.

Steam processes platform account and purchase information under the Valve Privacy Policy. Puzzle Peace does not receive your payment-card details from Steam.

App Store features

In the App Store version, the game uses Apple’s Game Center to record achievements and submit Daily Puzzle leaderboard scores. Scores and achievements are associated with your Game Center profile, and leaderboards display Game Center nicknames, ranks, and scores to other players. You can sign out of Game Center, or change who can see your profile, in your device’s Settings.

Puzzle packs are sold as in-app purchases through the App Store. Apple processes your Apple Account and payment information, and the game only receives confirmation of which packs you own so it can unlock them. Puzzle Peace does not receive your payment-card details from Apple. Apple handles Game Center and App Store information under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Daily puzzles

The game downloads daily puzzle information and artwork from content hosted through GitHub. Requests expose connection information, including your IP address, to the hosting service. Downloaded puzzles may be cached on your device. See the GitHub Privacy Statement for how that service handles requests.

Optional gameplay analytics

Analytics is optional and off until you choose it. On first use the game invites you to share gameplay statistics, and nothing is collected unless you choose “Continue with sharing.”

If you choose to share gameplay statistics, The Game Shelf uses Amplitude to understand how the game is played and improve puzzles, usability, and reliability. The first-use invitation offers “Continue with sharing” and “No thanks.” Your choice is remembered and can be changed at any time in Settings → Privacy & analytics. Analytics is not required to play, save progress, buy packs, or use platform features.

Events use a randomly generated installation identifier. They can include session dates and times, game version and platform, input method, puzzle and pack identifiers, puzzle size, progress, completion and play time, tools and tips used, and observable pack purchase, ownership, installation, and sharing outcomes. The identifier groups events from an installation; this is pseudonymous information, not a promise of anonymity. We do not send your Steam or Game Center account name or ID, payment details, receipts, puzzle images or arrangements, clipboard contents, or the contents of shared messages through this analytics integration.

Analytics requests go to Amplitude's US service. Connecting to that service exposes connection information such as your IP address to the provider. We do not intentionally send location or advertising identifiers. US hosting can involve processing outside your country; Amplitude's applicable processing terms and subprocessors govern its service.

Your analytics choices

To change your choice, return to the main menu and open Settings → Privacy & analytics to enable or disable “Share gameplay statistics.” Disabling it stops future collection and clears the local analytics identifier and pending queue. Re-enabling creates a new identifier. Requests already transmitted cannot be recalled, and opting out or uninstalling does not automatically delete information already received by Amplitude.

For access or deletion requests, contact [email protected] and say that your request concerns gameplay statistics. We will explain what information is needed to locate the records. Statistics are not linked to your name or platform account, so we may need the analytics identifier stored on your device, where available. If that identifier has been removed, including by turning sharing off, we may be unable to match your request to previously uploaded records. Please do not send payment information or platform account details.

Analytics retention

Pending analytics events are kept locally for at most 72 hours, with a queue limited to 1,000 events or 1 MiB; they may be discarded earlier if delivery or storage fails. Uploaded analytics data is kept for as long as it is useful for improving the game, and can be deleted on request. Local queue expiry does not delete data already uploaded. Requests for deletion are handled through our support process and the provider's deletion tools.

This website

This website does not use advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or nonessential cookies. Fonts and images are served with the website. When hosted on Cloudflare, connection and request information, such as IP addresses and requested URLs, may be processed to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

If a player shares a Daily Puzzle result, the link contains that day’s date and the player’s finishing time. Opening it loads that day’s picture from the daily puzzle content hosted through GitHub. The page sets no cookies and uses no analytics.

Following a Steam or App Store link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy practices. Apple describes its practices in the Apple Privacy Policy.

When you contact us

If you contact support, we receive your email address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and investigate the issue. Please avoid including passwords, payment-card details, or unrelated personal information.

Keeping and removing information

Local progress remains in the game’s data folder until that data is removed. Uninstalling may leave saved data behind on some platforms. Contact support if you need help locating it. Removing local data does not remove scores, achievements, Steam Cloud copies, or other records held by Steam or Game Center.

Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Platform and hosting providers manage their records according to their own policies.

Children

Puzzle Peace does not ask players for names or contact details during gameplay. Optional analytics, if a player chooses to turn it on, uses the installation identifier and data described above. Steam features are provided through the player’s Steam account under Valve’s policies, and Game Center and App Store features through the player’s Apple Account under Apple’s policies.

Your choices and requests

You can contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information we hold about you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to complain to your local privacy regulator. For data controlled by a platform provider, use that provider’s privacy controls or request process.

Updates and contact

This policy will be updated when the game’s data practices change.
